When an investor invests into a RELP, it is akin to a stockholder in a public company. You are relying on the company operating the business and you are just investing. As such, you have very little influence on the investments of the activities of the company. While investors who want to “control the show” may not like the lack of involvement, they also, as limited partners, also have limited liability.
As a RELP investor , if you lose your investment, you are only liable for the amount of your initial investment.
